Charitable Giving
Making A Difference That’s Bigger Than Lightspeed
Since July 2007, in regional offices around the globe, Lightspeed Research employees have become living examples of our company’s values. Together we’ve raised over US$16,000* to benefit children’s charities through Bigger Than Lightspeed, our corporate responsibility program.
Our dedicated employee volunteers have held a variety of events to benefit children’s charities: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Fundraising events have included a canned food drive, winter wear drive, bake sale, photo competition, and half marathon race, as well as various charity fairs, breakfasts and auctions.
In December 2008, a new Corporate Matching Program was launched to further Lightspeed Research’s participation in volunteerism. It’s an extension of our company’s philosophy that we, both as individuals and as a business, have a responsibility to support charitable organizations in the communities where we live and work.
Here’s what employees have to say about participating:
“Bigger than Lightspeed has been a very welcome initiative and a pleasure to be part of. Working with charities is always such a privilege, and the support of everyone in Europe has been great … it’s all about teamwork.” — Cindy Smith, Account Director, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
“It’s rewarding to know that we’re going to make a difference in these kids’ lives … that they’re going to have food to eat and clothes to wear.” — Lynnette McCarthy, Marketing Director, The Americas
“It has been a pleasure to lead such an enthusiastic group of people on this great initiative. The response from the AU team has been great.” — Stefan Kuegler, Research Technology and IT Manager, APAC and Quality Manager, APAC
