Delinquency and Collections Tracking Study

Delinquency and Collections Tracking Study

Recent economic challenges have compelled U.S. card issuers to reassess delinquency management and collections practices. Whether focusing on a more aggressive early-stage delinquency reminder strategy or a greater focus on enrolling struggling cardholders in a payment plan, U.S. card issuers are adapting in unique ways.

The goal of this study is two-fold:

  • To provide timely access to delinquency, collections, and payment program communications received by U.S. consumers.
  • To provide insightful issuer-by-issuer analysis of recent mailings.

On a continuous basis, Lightspeed Research collects delinquency and collections notifications that are being sent to consumers by major U.S. credit card issuers, including American Express, Bank of America, Chase, Citi, Capital One, Discover, HSBC, US Bank, and Wells Fargo. These offers are individually analyzed, and used to develop the two main deliverables for this Study:

  • A comprehensive monthly report that includes issuer-by-issuer analysis of key components of these notifications
  • Direct online access to images of the Delinquency & Collections Notifications that were received by consumers.

Please contact the Lightspeed Research Financial Services Group to learn more about this and other offerings and to gain access to a sample report.
