Lightspeed continues to invest in local leadership and partnerships across Asia

SINGAPORE (October 8, 2018) – Lightspeed has announced that Siddhartha (Sid) Dutta has been promoted to the new role of Managing Director, Asia. Reporting to Caroline Frankum, Global Chief Executive Officer, Dutta will take overall responsibility for Singapore, India, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Frankum stated “Asia is an exciting, transforming part of the world, where growth is a real opportunity. Sid is – without shadow of a doubt – the best person for this role to drive growth in bold, creative and fast ways. It is part of his DNA!”

Sid Dutta Named Managing Director, Asia Prior this appointment, Dutta served as General Manager of Lightspeed South East Asia based in Singapore. In this role, Dutta was responsible for leading the business across South East Asia and India by aligning the local team’s expertise and technologies to service the needs of all clients. With over a decade of market research industry and management experience, his strong focus on client satisfaction and delivery ensure the region is effectively supported for all projects. Previously, he has held roles at a variety of research suppliers, including Greenfield and Research Now.

Dutta was also instrumental in creating the newly formed partnership with Eureka, an AI platform that gives Lightspeed access to millions of mobile subscribers from companies across ASEAN, India, the Middle East and Europe. Additionally, it enables the connection of survey data to a Telco’s data, ranging from simple demographics to online behaviors and interests – providing a boost in panel reach and Lightspeed’s ability to collect and connect data.

“The partnership between Lightspeed and Eureka assists in extending Lightspeed’s reach, capitalizing on Eureka’s programmatic approach to gathering data – a key tenant of Lightspeed’s data strategy,” stated Dutta.

These moves follow other regional news for Lightspeed in Asia, including the promotion of Jeff Tsui to MD of China, the launch of Lightspeed’s mobile offer via WeChat, and the opening of a new Seoul office earlier this year.
