Lightspeed's Leon de KoningClaudia Doeland, Matt Shepherd, and Andreas Wittenberg to Lead New EMEA Client Verticals

LONDON (06 June 2017) – Lightspeed, leaders in digital data collection, today announced the promotion of Leon De Koning to the newly created role of Vice President, Client Sales EMEA. He reports to Caroline Frankum, Lightspeed’s Global Chief Executive Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer, EMEA.

With more than 24 years of client experience, De Koning will deliver on his proven success of cultivating strong relationships with marketing research agencies and end clients. In his role, he will develop and execute Lightspeed’s European, Middle Eastern and African sales strategies to sustain the region’s continuing growth, while also serving as a strategic partner to key clients. In addition, he will oversee strategic account planning and client services across the region while leading the expansion of the business development team. Prior to this role, De Koning served as Lightspeed’s Managing Director, Northern Central and Eastern Europe and Managing Director Northern Europe.

Launching New EMEA Client Verticals

Effectively immediately three EMEA vertical divisions will be led by Matt Shepherd, Claudia Doeland, and Andreas Wittenberg.

  • Shepherd will transition his responsibilities to lead Lightspeed’s Media Client vertical across EMEA. As Sales Director, EMEA, Shepherd has become a trusted business advisor for media owners; public relations and advertising agencies; and marketers.
  • Doeland will lead the Enterprise vertical in EMEA. In this role, she will work with clients from different verticals across Europe, the Middle East and Africa to help them navigate through the data jungle and helping them to collect and understand consumers opinions and behaviors in today’s fast paced ‘always on’ marketplace.
  • Wittenberg will focus on supporting the Market Research Agency vertical across EMEA. In this role, he will work closely together with the agencies to maximize their online research capabilities and leveraging trends like Mobile first, metering and combining behavioral data with research data.
